✯ ✯ ✯ SEASON OF GIVING: USO GOODIE BAGS - DONATION GOAL REACHED - THANKS! ✯ ✯ ✯
November 11, 2025 – Vancouver, BC
Honored to be invited and participate in the City of Vancouver’s Remembrance Day Ceremony, a formal and moving tribute televised live across Canada. Thousands lined the streets to honor and remember the fallen.
Our members proudly marched alongside ANAVETS Pacific Unit 280. We were the only organization from the United States in attendance. The ceremony featured a flyover, artillery salute, and remarks from Mayor Ken Sim, Vancouver’s first Chinese Canadian mayor.
Grateful to our friend King Wan and ANAVETS Unit 280 for coordinating our participation.
Beautiful weather, heartfelt ceremony — an unforgettable day of remembrance and friendship.
Cathay Post #186 was honored to participate in the Vancouver Chinatown Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Chinatown Memorial, following the city’s ceremony at Victory Square.
The event was organized by the Vancouver Chinatown Remembrance Day Committee, with support from ANAVETS Pacific Unit #280, the Chinese Canadian Military Museum Society, and other community organizations.
Cathay Post #186 Commander Erin McGlenn and Past Commander Haydon Mar proudly presented a wreath on behalf of Cathay Post #186.
The ceremony was well attended by the Mayor of Vancouver, the U.S. Consul General, and many other dignitaries and community leaders.
Special thanks to Committee Chair King Wan and ANAVETS Pacific Unit #280 President Steve Ko for their leadership. Our sincere appreciation to ANAVETS Pacific Unit #280 for their warm hospitality.
Let us continue to strengthen the international friendship begun by our U.S. and Canadian WWII veterans.
We are the next generation carrying their legacy forward.
