DARSIE DELA-CRUZ, U.S. Army Veteran

• Born in Sacramento, CA.

• Joined the US Army at 17 after early graduation from high school.

• Assigned to the 649th Engineer Battalion (Schwetzingen, Germany) as a Terrain Analyst. The 649th was attached to the 3rd Armored Division of 7th Corps.

• Fought in the 1st Gulf War: Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990-91.

• Attached to the 302nd Military Intelligence Battalion of 5th Corps (Frankfurt, Germany).

• Discharged from the US Army in Europe.

• Worked as a civilian in 5th Corps as a Physical/Personnel Security assistant.

• Graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA.

• Worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a Customer Service Representative in Seattle, WA.

• Currently is a Veterans Claims Representative for the Veterans Administration in  Seattle, WA.

• Currently serves in Cathay Post #186 as Finance Officer.
