2024 Puget Sound Hometown Hero Celebration
We are thrilled to announce our Puget Sound Hometown Hero Celebration (formerly known as AAPI Hometown Hero Celebration), scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Museum of Flight in Seattle at 11am. This event aims to "serve those who serve" and honor our "Puget Sound Hometown Heroes" for their daily contributions.
WHO IS INVITED?
This event is open to any actively serving Puget Sound military members (Active, Guard, Reserve), Puget Sound first responders (Federal, State, or local). Members must have a valid DOD Military ID Card, or their first responder's employee badge. Wearing their military or department's uniform is encouraged. Each hero, their immediate household members and/or significant other, will be treated to a free meal and free entrance to the museum.
HOW HAVE WE SERVED?
September 2022: First AAPI Hometown Hero Celebration - Terry's Kitchen
Spring 2023: Offered $500 grants to eligible military and first responders to support AAPI celebrations.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THIS EVENT?
Ensure Puget Sound military/first responders know that they are appreciated
Increase awareness of the contributions of our "Puget Sound Hometown Heroes"
Inspire our Puget Sound youth to consider career in these occupations
Increase recruitment of military and public safety personnel
