Year of the Rabbit - Red Envelopes
When several Seattle Police Department officers in the Chinatown-ID Community Liaison Team came up with the idea of distributing $1 red envelopes to welcome the Year of the Rabbit, Henry Liu, SPD Community Outreach Coordinator reached out to us for ideas.
Cathay Post 186 - Seattle, WA, Chinese American Citizen Alliance - Seattle Lodge, and our Asian American Pacific Islander First Responders & Military - WA Hometown Hero Celebration committee decided to be the primary sponsors of the Seattle Police Department's "Red Envelopes Community Project." We wanted to help our SPD build better community relationships with our C-ID businesses.
Cathay Post #186 members, who are all military veterans, understand what it means to serve in uniform and "to serve those who serve." We have a strong sense of law and order and want to further promote public trust of our Seattle Police Department within our C-ID community.
Despite operating in a very challenging environment, we want to thank our SPD officers for everything they do to make our C-ID home a safer place.
